What is Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.

In brief, aromatherapy is the use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Although the term aromatherapy was not used until the 20th Century, the foundations of aromatherapy date back thousands of years.


Why we’re using Aromatherapy in Body Bliss

Aromatherapy essential oils are high in sesquiterpenes- which means they can work on our DNA positively, and also beneficially they’re anti-inflamatory – and they safely enhance hypothalamus function and re-sensitize receptors :   most beneficial are myrrh, clary sage, my favourites sandalwood and cedarwood, and also peppermint for its aroma.
